221 - Atwakeye (Bush Orange)

Janie paints the Atwakeye, also known as the bush orange. This small, compact tree produces creamy white flowers that bloom at night and fade by the following day. The fruit hangs from long stalks and typically ripens between October and January. In her artwork, Janie depicts the bush orange when it is ripe and ready to be eaten raw, while the background dot work represents the seeds of the bush orange.
